MELUSINA - PROFESSIONAL BELLY DANCE PERFORMER AND INSTRUCTOR Melusina is a professional Middle Eastern dance artist from Melbourne. She has studied, practiced and performed belly dance since the mid 1990s and has a passionate love forthe dance that has motivated her to devote much of her life to it. Melusina has studied intensively under many inspirational master teachers of varying styles of belly dance both here in Australia and overseas. Her fondness and skill for both Egyptian dance and contemporary Tribal styles has extended her studies to Egypt, America and New Zealand where she has also had the honour of performing and teaching. She has an impressive history of performing experience, regularly dancing at many high profile events including work in television, music videos, festivals, concerts, and functions around Australia and internationally. She is a popular instructor and choreographer, working full time at a dance studio in Fitzroy as well as frequently travelling to teach. Melusina's style is unique and passionate, demonstrating technical precision and musicality with a strong emotive presence. She is highly regarded for her expertise in sword and veil dancing as well as her innovative contemporary style and classical technique. Melusina can be fun and exotic or dramatic and sensual depending on the style of the event. She interacts well with a crowd and is a classy performer. She has a stunning array of professional costumes and is proficient with most props used in belly dance. Styles of belly dance: Egyptian Turkish Lebanese Moroccan Cabaret Classical Tribal Contemporary and Fusion (including Spanish, Latin and Indian Fusion) Props: Veil (single and double) Sword (Middle Eastern Scimitar) Cane (used in Folkloric styles) Zills (finger cymbals) Isis Wings (large gossamer, glimmering wings)   Rates: $40 a class, 4 only in a class which ensures individual attention. Melusina can choreograph routines or improvise/rove. She can work with c.d.s or live music, dance as a soloist or in a duet/trio/troupe. Melusina can also provide belly dance lessons for things like workshops, corporate functions or Hen's Parties. She is also a professional Tarot Card reader.
