AHH CELLULITE I'm asked about this daily.
It's every woman's AND some men's dread and fear.
Every woman and some men that attend my studio/gym or wants personal training asks about cellulite.
It's a conversation that I have daily with my clients.

Cellulite is a way to store fat, the less body fat you have the less cellulite.

Here are some tips:

 

1. You are what you eat.

In an anti cellulite diet the vital is diet. Now the term diet I rarely use with clients. I often say food intake as I don’t believe in diets. Choices and options of foods are a better phrase. Often when you say diets it sets up people for a binge or depravation. So lets all change the word diet to food intake that works for you. After all it is all about choices and options as we are all individuals.

The anti cellulite food intake cleanses and detoxifies the whole system to enable toxic waste to be eliminated and it prevents more cellulite from forming in the future. When a pure and natural food intake is eaten, the liver and large intestines are extremely efficient at getting rid of wastes very quickly. The more natural the food the quicker the digestive system breaks it down. The more artificial the food intake the loner it takes to go through the body. Much of the waste material that is not handled by the liver or large intestine gets re-absorbed back into the body where it starts to do damage. It is when too much waste materials accumulate that we notice cellulite deposits. The more the system is clogged the more sluggish the circulation becomes the worse the cellulite problem is likely to be. So eat all natural foods, organic preferably. Keep it simple lots of fruit, vegetables, tofu, lentils etc. I have a 2 week eating plan that will help detox and cleanse the system. Recipes included.

 

2. Water Water Water

Drink at least 2 litres a day after all your body is made up of overt 70% water. Most of us are dehydrated. Being dehydrated contributes to cellulite deposits. Water flushes and cleanses the system which we need to keep clear and unclogged. Water is the only drink that can successfully re-hydrate the body and help flush out toxins and accumulated wastes from the system.

 

3. Alcohol cut it down or out

Alcohol enters the blood very quickly and alters blood chemistry. When alcohol enters the body it can overload and over work the liver and kidneys. It then cannot efficiently handle the excess waste materials. The eliminative organs have enough to do handling ordinary waste materials produced by food intake, If the system has to deal with alcohol as well its not surprising that our system fins it hard to cope and that much waste matter stays in the system.

 

4. Nicotine cut it down or out

The first effect of nicotine is that it uses up oxygen. Whenever there is reduced oxygen n the body cell function is impaired and circulation is effected. Our bodies cannot function without oxygen. Nicotine is a powerful pollutant and is an anti nutrient. It robs our system of Vitamin C and Zinc.

 

5. Coffee cut it down or out

Coffee interferes with certain minerals in the diet, particularly iron absorption. It puts extra stress on the adrenal glands by over working them, which then releases (adrenalin). Coffee and tea are stimulant, yummy though they may be they are a non nutrient. Our bodies do not need them for daily functioning. I recommend you drink more herbal teas, They are nourishing and refreshing and wont rob your body of valuable nutrients.

 

6. Massage

Get a lymphatic drainage massage. The type of massage can be hard which pummels and kneads away cellulite deposits at the same time activation modes. A qualified lymphatic drainage masseur does this by pressing on lymph points all over your body and applying pressure to them. A lymphatic massage may make you feel slightly faint afterwards. So take your time when getting up of the table and when you do you will feel fabulous.

 

7. Breathe Breathe Breathe
Practice deep breathing for relaxation when ever you have the opportunity. This helps more oxygen get in the system and improves circulation. Come to Vibes Pilates classes. You will learn how to do the Pilates lateral breath as well as strengthen and improve your flexibility, toning your whole body. Pilates will teach you body awareness and connect with the core leaving you with the understanding or core connection.

 

8. De-stress Yourself
The less stress and anxious you are the less cellulite will be formed. When the mind is tense and anxious, extra stress hormones (adrenalin) are released in to the system and they stay there. The more chronic the stress, the greater the release of adrenalin which then leads to a build of toxic wastes. The bind and body are linked.

 

9. Exercise Exercise Exercise

Exercise can be effective once you have managed to work through the first 8 tips. Any exercise will help you de-stress and tone and shape the body. I recommend to start with swimming and walking briskly as they both exercise the body without putting undue stress or strain on your joints. Never attempt a vigorous workout if you have been sedentary. Slow and gently easy into an exercise routine.

 

10. Aromatherapy Oils

Aromatherapy is one of the most successful forms or treatment for cellulite. The essential oils used in aromatherapy work in conjunction with your food intake and will not work unless you stick to these 12 tips. They will enable waste matter to empty itself into the lymphatic system. These are the oils I recommend.

 

NOTE: only use pure essential oils as the cheaper brands contain kerosene.

*Lemon
*Juniper
*Clary sage
*Cypress
*Patchouli
*Geranlum
*Black Pepper
*Sandalwood

 

NOTE: Never use the same oil for more than 2 weeks as they loose there potency once the body gets used to them EG: use cypress for the first 2 weeks then switch to rosemary. The body likes to be surprised and stimulated.

 

11. Dry Skin Brushing

Dry skin brushing must be carried out with the cleansing and anti cellulite food intake plan. There is no point in working hard to unclog the system from the outside if you are filling it up with rubbish on the inside. The brush must be hard and made of natural, non synthetic fibres. Use a long handle brush of Mexican cactus fibre. The handle should be detachable and made of natural wood with a strap across the back of the brush. Start by gently brushing the areas of cellulite as your body gets used to it you may scrub a little harder. If the brush has hard bristles you can soften them by soaking it in water. Be gentle with yourself. You do not want to make your skin bleed. We want to stimulate the system by brushing gently.

 

12. Learn to love your body and your cellulite

When you look at yourself in the mirror especially focusing on the cellulite areas as we do, don’t do it with hatred or disgust. Treat your body with loving care, saying affirmations will help. Reminding yourself that you are doing the very best for you to enable you to loose the cellulite and fat cells that ay have been there for a while.

 

An affirmation that I gives my clients is:

”I am special and unique and love and nurture every part of my body”

 

Saying this whilst looking in the mirror daily will empower you to be the best you can be. Slowly and gently embrace all these 12 tips into your lifestyle. This is only is a brief overview into what Vibes clients do. Of course it is much more involved and in depth. This is only a starts for you that will help you on your journey of eliminating cellulite forever.
