Personal Training with margie at vibes fitness fitzroy
EDDIE PERFECT talks about Margie Cerato; much more than just a personal trainer
Something happens when you reach thirty years of age as a man (possibly as a woman, too, I don’t know... I’ve never been one); physically, everything slows down. I was told this, and although I have never been a thin guy, I guess I’ve always been able to knuckle down and shed excess weight pretty quickly.
I was thirty one years of age and coming off the back of a three year writing process on “Shane Warne The Musical” and my weight was a little out of hand. I’m not a vain guy, but I didn’t like tying my shoelaces and feeling there was just a bit too much of me in the way. I also knew that what I was about to do in terms of performing a two and a half hour show, seven times a week in a role which saw I never left the stage, was going to require me to be not only physically fitter and a few kilos lighter, but mentally strong, positive and focused.
I needed a crash overhaul, really.
This is where Margie Cerato comes in. My friend, a producer, recommended Margie and said she’d really turned things around for her... which was some recommendation because my friend was a boozing, smoking, ridiculously hard-working women- the sort who puts everything into others and neglects herself. I met Margie and we started working.
I think it’s important for me to point out some things about Margie which make her unique and which makes this not just another standard testimonial, if there is such a thing. Margie is incredibly generous. I suppose it’s about attention to detail, attention to you, but it’s also small things- making sure you’re comfortable, accommodating your own interests, humour, attitudes........
I saw results really quickly because I submitted myself to Margie’s will, her infectious enthusiasm and her advice.
I had a sore neck once and she rubbed my neck with some gel and it completely worked.
Margie is the first person that got through to me on the topic of food.....................................
The idea that food was mostly what it was about, 80%. 20% exercises. Training at least every second day....
I really noticed that after working out with Vibes fitness it made a huge difference in the way I sang that night during the show.
I always ate pretty healthily but not smart and at the wrong times of day.
I started losing weight consistently and naturally, about a kilogram a week, for six weeks and I felt really strong and well. I felt clear headed.
I was never bored by the sessions and in fact I looked forward to catching up with Margie and having a laugh.
By the time “Shane Warne The Musical” opened I was physically ready. Six weeks with Margie was actually enough time to affect a massive difference in my physical appearance and my stamina levels. The show is massively demanding both physically and vocally................................ But it was also more pressure, more stress, more grief than I had ever experienced.
My good friend and the musical director of the show passed away during rehearsals, we had to lose a cast member & I was facing multiple issues as well as trying to get the show up. I really have to thank Margie for taking care of me during that time..................... It was exactly what I needed. I know everyone’s experience will be different but I think it is important to note that Margie is much more than just another trainer.
I know who those people are......................... I’ve trained with them.
Margie loves what she does, she loves people, she loves life, she loves her business she cares and that is something rare. I would send anyone to see Margie, she really is one out of the box.
