I met Margie from Vibes 12 weeks before my wedding! And man am I happy I was introduced to her via a work colleague.

I have never been a skinny person, I have always carried a bit of weight and it has never bothered me until the thought of walking around a beach resort in Borneo in a bikini with my new husband. And it dawned on me I need to drop the weight and tone my body. I have always played netball and have thought myself to be fairly fit and I believed I ate reasonable well for a person my age, so why was I carrying this weight?

But I was wrong, I remember the first day Margie and I sat down and she did all my measurements and analysed what I was eating. I was fairly on track there were a few BIG things that were preventing me from dropping the weight like the amount of cheese, potatoes and bread I was eating each day. I remember Margie saying to me that “80% of my weight is due to what goes in my mouth”.

So I went to task, she set me up with a book and I had to record everything that went into my mouth! It was really confronting, because I really wasn’t that good eater after all. I was eating foods at the wrong end of the day and I also needed to increase the intake of some foods.

Every three weeks Margie would get the measuring tape out and I was losing centimetres from parts of the body that just was not imaginable! I must also point out that we got married on the 5th of February so this all took place over the festive season!

The day came for me to walk down the aisle… More importantly to go on my honeymoon, I jumped on the scales and I had lost 10kgs in 12 weeks!!!

It is now 12 months on and I see Margie once a week and she is always at the other end of the phone helping me and encouraging with many aspects of my life. This is the fittest I have been in a very long time and I actually enjoy going for a walk or jumping on that treadmill.

My experience with Margie has changed my outlook on life, my energy levels have increased and I am now up for any challenge that comes my way. The real thing I have noticed is I have not had a netball injury all year and my chronic back problems have completely gone.

Margie, you have changed my life, you are an amazing person and I thank you for everything you have given me and will continue to give me, you truly have become a really good friend.
